travelin' man

travelin' man

so...
i had to go to indianapolis on business this week...those of you who know me ...know i don't travel well alone...(actually i wasn't alone...richard was with me...but traveling with him is sort of like traveling alone)...

i tried my hardest to get out of this trip...i mean after all it was indianapolis..but...the upside of it was...richard is going to both new orleans and texas next week and i don't have to go to either...

susan in our office made the reservations for the trip..and she booked us in separate rooms...and she booked our plane seats ...richard likes to be on the aisle and of course since susan figured we needed to sit together...i got to sit in a middle seat...it wasn't horrible but it did lack a certain amount of comfort..

i made it through the flight...and the kamikazi taxi driver to the hotel...so we get out of the cab..and go into the hotel to check in...before we left susan had given me the reservation sheets for the hotel..but richard who can be very impatient at times went straight to the desk and told the woman...our names and to put both of us on the same credit card..
so the woman at the desk..says...do you want two king size beds..and richard says...no just one...
so the woman says...are you sure?
and richard (somewhat annoyed) says...i'm sure..
and the woman says...are you really sure we do have rooms with two king sized beds..and richard says...i'm positive..
so while they're having this conversation..
i finish digging the reservation sheets out of my bag and i hand them to the woman...
she looks at the sheets...she looks at me and says..
oooohhhh....two rooms...

i looked at richard and said...we almost had to share a room..show some patience...geeze...

anyway...the hotel was nice..and the trip wasn't bad....but nothing beats being home...and nothing makes you appreciate being home like being away...

music tonight...
michael buble...home...

"another aeroplane
another sunny place
i’m lucky i know
but i wanna go home
mmmm, i’ve got to go home..."
