last friday...heading home late...after a long day...
in the car...on the highway..
thoughtlessly driving...trying to clear my head...
i had the radio on npr...
i started listening...
there was this program..where people were telling stories..
i listened...
i got lost in this one story...
it turned out i was listening to ...
"this american life"...
the theme of the program was..
"life after death...stories of people haunted by their role in others deaths, even when everyone agrees they're blameless"...
i had turned on the program at the very begining....as it turned out i had only missed about 30 or 40 seconds of the program...evidently the normal format is a prologue...then act I followed by act II...
act I...darren strauss is 16 years old...driving with friends...when a bicyclist turns in front of his car...
sometimes...i can find the words...
and sometimes there are enough words already to tell the story...
